When does helping hurt in short term missions?
Acts of JOY is excited to announce a whole new paradigm shift from traditional short term missions (going from one country to another; putting band aids on problems but never seeing any lasting change) to a whole new way of achieving long lasting, sustainable life changes in impoverished communities; by giving a hand up instead of a hand out; by empowering instead of enabling through Community Health Evangelism.
If you plan for a year, plant a seed. If for ten years, plant a tree. If for a hundred years, teach the people. When you sow a seed once, you will reap a single harvest. When you teach the people, you will reap a hundred harvests.
